Jackfruit curry or "panasapottu koora" is most favorite of many grand parents, I talked to. It is a must for special occasions such as weddings.
It is also made along with mustard seeds and called aava petti koora.
For your delight, here is a video of how this raw jackfruit is cut, in India. My grandparents said they used to have a special knife to cut the jackfruit and raw jackfruit at home, and you need to apply lot of oil as it is very gluy.
Recipe
You need to first get aava paste ready. For this, soak the mustard seeds and dry red chilli in hot water for about 15 minutes and make them all into a paste. Take chopped jackfruit, tamarind juice, bit of salt and cook in pressure cooker for one whistle. Once cooled, take another pan, add tadka, add the jackfruit, and aava paste and cook until you get the texture you want and all spices are blended in.
Gradma's tip: If you have jackfruit pieces than chopped jackfruit, shred them after cooking in pressure cooker.
