Filter Coffee

Filter Coffee

Filter coffee is one of South Indian favorites. Many South Indians start their day with a warm cup of filter coffee.

My grandpa loves coffee and he was always looking for the best version of coffee powders anywhere he used to go.

Making filtered coffee at home is simple but you need to wait patiently for the brew. You need the coffee maker that has two dishes one on top and one on bottom with a filter.

Here are the basic steps:

  1. Start by heating water to the correct temperature (around 200°F) - bring to boil once and stop.

  2. Grind your coffee beans to a medium-coarse grind or use good fresh coffee powder.

  3. Place a filter in your coffee maker and add the ground coffee.

  4. Slowly pour the hot water over the coffee, making sure to wet all of the grounds.

  5. Allow the coffee to brew for 4-5 minutes. Good filters take 30 minutes to drip.

  6. Boil milk meanwhile.

  7. Add dicoction from filter and then add boiled milk and mix back and forth to get that forth.

Use best coffee powder you can. Also, the quality of the water you use can also affect the taste of your coffee. It's best to use filtered or purified water if possible.
