Popped Jowar, Rice and Poha - 11 dishes

Homemade popcorn



 Popcorn here is made in clay pot. Take corn, add little oil, close the lid and keep it slow flame of stove and cook until all the corn is popped. 

Jowar is also done the same way. 

Popped rice is made, when little boiled rice is dried and then popped. The popped rice is called murmura. 

Poha is flattened , dried, slightly boiled rice. 

Poha is often made again into a lot more dishes. 

Poha upma : Take poha in a pot and pour water until it is wet. Then take tadka in a pan and add curry leaves. Rinse poha then and squeeze water and add to pan. Add little turmeric. Cook until done. 

Poha Pulihora: Prepare like pulihora with rice, but substitute with soaked and squeezed poha. 

Poha mixture: Dry roast poha in little oil. Dry roast peanuts in oil. Dry roast murumura also and then mix all together with salt, and chilli powder. 

Spicy Jowar balls: Dry roast jowar and add oil at the end roast again. Then turn off stove and add chilli powder, salt and dry roasted curry leaves. 

Sweet jowar balls: Make jaggery syrup and add dry roasted jowar and cook for 5 min and cool. then make into balls.  

Sweet murmura balls:  Make jaggery syrup and add dry roasted murmura and cook for 5 min and cool. then make into balls.
