Gummadi vadiyalu and more papadams and variyalu

 Gummadi Vadiyalu

Here is a picture of ashgourd vadiyalau: Vadiyalu are dry vegetable item that are again fried and added to the curries or eaten along with rice.

Gummadi vadiyalu - made of ash gourd . Cut ashgourd, add salt, and then put in cloth and close tight and keep a heavy weight item on top. Let the water leave and then dry them in sun.
Rice vadiyalu: Mix a batter of crushed rice with jeera and spices and pour on cloth in sun and dry.
REd chilli rice vadiyalau: My mom loves these and they are made same as rice vadiyalu but red chilli powder is added instead of green chilli paste.
Tomato rice vadiyalu: little tomato paste is added to rice vadiyalu paste and dried like same and used.
Rice vadiyalau puvvulu: These are same paste but poured little balls than flat ones.
Sago vadiyalu: Instead of rice, tapioca are used.
Sago chilli papapd: Tapioca with green chilli paste is used to pour vadiyalu.

All these vadiyalu were favorites my grand fathers and great grand fathers. My granny knows how to make the best flower vadiyalu.
