Burelu or Sweet balls

 Boorelu or Purnam Boorelu

This dish is very famous in Andhra and all my grand mothers and great grand mothers used to make for most of the festivals and special occasions. They are a must for Wedding and House warming.

Here is how to make them in simple steps.

Soak chana dal and boil with just enough water. If you happen to have lots of water, then discard but keep only cooked chana. Then smash it, and add jaggery powder to it. 1:1 ratio is good but alternate as per your taste. Then cook on slow flame until mixed. Add little cardamom powder.

Make urad dal batter - like runny dosa batter.

After the chana dal mix is ready cooked, cool it and make small balls and dip in batter and deep fry.

Grandmas tip: Make sure not to have chana dal mix runny. Now a days you can use refrigerator to freeze if it is bit runny.
