Boondi laddu

Here is boondi laddu that everyone enjoyed.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup besan (chickpea flour)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Oil for deep frying
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • tsp cardamom powder
  • Ghee for making laddus

Instructions:


  1. Add besan and 1/2 cup water and mix well to make a smooth batter of pouring consistency like dosa batter or bajji batter but little thinner than that. Use perforated spoon and pour a ladleful of the batter onto the spoon so that the batter gets into oil and boondi is made. Fry until golden brown and crispy. Remove and keep aside.

  2. Meanwhile, add sugar and 1 1/2 cups water and bring it to a boil. Add cardamom powder and let it simmer until it forms a one-string consistency syrup.

  3. Add the fried boondi to the sugar syrup and mix well. Allow the mixture to cool slightly and then grease your palms with ghee. Take small portions of the mixture and shape them into small round balls using your palms.

  4. Allow them to cool to store them.
