Mudapappu

 Here is mudapappu  recipe, that is a staple dish. It is usually served with rice, but one of the grandparents said they like with roti also. Here how it is made. 

Take one cup of toor dal and soak it in enough water for 20 minutes minimum.

After that rinse it very well and pressure cook for one or two whistles.

If you want soft dal  you can cook for two to three whistles.

Once done,  then open the lid and add a little bit of turmeric and salt and saute it so that it loses its raw taste,

if there is still any. Cook until it is thick and serve it with hot rice ghee and papadums.

You can also add some tadka to it and serve with Roti.
